debi Gobin         Contemporary Landscape Paintings

debi Gobin's landscape paintings explore her emotional response to the world around her. Gobin begins her work with a simple gestured line, then intuitively responds to that stroke until the painting is "done". Gobin always works on multiple paintings at the same time, all started together and all finishing up together. Gobin delights in experimenting with her use of line, perspective, and color to convey the energy and vibrancy of the ever-changing natural world. Gobin paints primarily in oil, but is always exploring additional materials and techniques.

A former Interpretive Naturalist and Artist for Parks and Fish/Wildlife departments, Gobin has lived in, worked and explored the North Country from Maine to Alaska. Gobin now lives, works, and paints from the cabin she shares with her husband, and dog, in the mountains of Vermont.

Gobin's work has appeared in numerous solo and group shows, including but not limited to; The Wadsworth Athenaeum, CT., Springfield Museum of Fine Art, Ma., NYC., Northlight Gallery, AK., Kirkhof Gallery, Mi., Southern Vermont Arts Center, Manchester, Vt., Stratton Mt. Arts Festival, Stratton, VT., Art in the Round Barn, Waitsfield, Vt., Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury, Vt., and the Bryan Memorial Gallery, Jeffersonville, Vt.
